Justin Marler is an American author and musician known for leaving a burgeoning career in punk and metal music for the solitude of the monastic life, where he spent seven years living with monks. He is known for founding the popular Death to the World ‘zine, and penning many articles about the catastrophic effects of modern life on the younger generation. In the 90’s Marler lived in an isolated monastery on the deserted end of an island in Alaska, where he wrote his first book, Youth of the Apocalypse, by candle light, with only a pen and a ream of paper. He is the author of numerous travel guidebooks, and books and articles on Church history and Christian spirituality.
