Karen Rae Levine is the editor of the WOMEN OF THE HARLEM RENAISSANCE ANTHOLOGY SERIES and SUBSCRIPTION TO THE HARLEM RENAISSANCE. The anthology series gathers short stories, essays, one-act plays, and poems by the unsung Black women writers who helped shape an era. The series includes two types of volumes: Short-Take Anthologies are concise, theme-based collections under 100 pages, and Expanded Anthologies are more comprehensive volumes that expand on the themes or authors introduced in the Short-Take volumes. Texts are carefully transcribed from the original publications, and short introductions provide reliable historical context. Overlap between volumes is minimal, allowing the books to function as a continuous collection. SUBSCRIPTION TO THE HARLEM RENAISSANCE brings back into print rare early twentieth-century periodicals that first showcased Harlem Renaissance writers, artists, and thinkers. Each volume is a faithful reprint of an original issue.
