Liza Morton is a multi-award winning Chartered Counselling Psychologist and author currently working as a Senior Lecturer in Applied Psychology at Glasgow Caledonian University, Scotland. Passionate about promoting psychological wellbeing for people living with health conditions her work draws from her extensive lived experience, clinical work, teaching and research. As a leading practice-academic she also holds a PhD from Glasgow University. She publishes her work widely in academic journals and is regularly invited to present to a range of audiences internationally. A health advocate she successfully campaigned the Scottish Government for national healthcare standards for people living with Congenital Heart Conditions. Her work has featured across international media outlets. Born with complete heart block and a hole in her heart, Liza was fitted with her first cardiac pacemaker at just 11 days old in 1978. She has depended on pioneering medical care since.
