I was born into a French‑speaking household in Southern Louisiana. At the age of three, I was taken away from my mother and abandoned by my father. My two sisters and I spent several years in foster care before our mother was finally able to bring us home. We returned to a modest house ruled by our stern but loving grandmother, whose strength shaped much of who I became. Growing up in Cajun country—surrounded by spicy food, bold traditions, and old superstitions—gave me a vivid imagination and a deep appreciation for the stories people carry inside them. Not all of my childhood was easy, but those experiences taught me empathy, resilience, and the power of finding beauty in unexpected places. As an adult, I’ve lived openly and proudly as a gay man. My identity shapes the way I see the world and the way I write—through the lens of authenticity, courage, and the belief that every person deserves to be seen for who they truly are. Animals have always been a source of comfort and unconditional love in my life, especially my dogs, who were my constant companions for many years. Their recent passing left a hole in my heart that I still feel every day. Grieving them has reminded me how deeply animals touch our lives and how much love they leave behind. They continue to inspire me, even in their absence. Writing has become my way of transforming memory, emotion, and imagination into something meaningful. Through storytelling, I express the dreams and inner worlds that have lived within me since childhood. My empathy for others and my understanding of the human struggle flow into every page I write. I believe my ability to tell stories is a gift and sharing that gift with readers is one of the greatest honors of my life.
