Rachel Sweasey is a historical fiction novelist whose stories are set in Poole, Dorset, where she grew up. Beautiful Poole is a stunning backdrop with its gorgeous harbour, golden sands, white cliffs, and rich history. Rachel is inspired by Kate Morton for dual timeline stories, and Thomas Hardy for books set in the real landscape of Dorset. She's published three historical fiction novels in dual timelines, set in World War Two: THE LAST BOAT HOME, THE ISLAND GIRLS, and THE GIRL FROM NORMANDY. THE LAST BOAT HOME is being translated and will be published in Serbian and Spanish editions in late 2026. Rachel's Saga Series, THE LIFEBOAT GIRLS, is also set in Poole but in the era of the First World War. Book One released in May 2026 and has heartrending connections with the Titanic as well as the onset of The Great War, following the lives, loves, and losses of four young local girls. Book Two in this saga series – THE LIFEBOAT GIRLS AT WAR - is due out in January 2027.
