Terry Willey is the co-author of "Time Travel for Fun and Prophet," a science fiction/humor novel with a dose of romance and intrigue. He and co-author Carol Baker have written one-act plays, full-length plays, screenplays, teleplays, short stories, and novels. Their interactive murder mysteries, one-act and full-length plays have been produced on stage at various venues in Bakersfield. They’ve worked with many theaters in Bakersfield as writers, actors, stage crew, and directors. They co-wrote and co-directed several one-act plays. Terry produced two shows and was lyricist for one. He also spent five years making people laugh performing improv with ComedySportz. They are longstanding members of the California Writers Club. Their work has appeared in Coastal Dunes CWC anthologies "Across a Distant Shore," "Shifting Sands," and "Turning Tides"; and in Writers of Kern "Anthology 2001" and "Anthology II." Their fantasy short story "Sir Michael of Baker-Willey" won second prize in the Ridge Writers East Sierra Branch of the CWC’s “Pen to Screen” contest. Their micro-mini-movie "Mintos: Code Blue!" (1997) world premiered at the Johns Hopkins Film Festival (April 1998), screened at the Brainwash Fourth Annual Movie Festival (July 1998), and toured with Brainwash Movies. Their original comedy/drama screenplay "The Boys" was a semi-finalist in the 9th Annual Writer’s Network Screenplay & Fiction Competition. Terry co-starred in the play version produced at Phoenix Theatre in Bakersfield in June 2001. Terry and Carol co-wrote both the stage and indie film versions of “Bubba and Sissy Git Hitched?” acting as producers, assistant directors, lyricist, and catering on the film. Terry is a licensed therapist and speaker.
