WWE hit the reset button after WrestleMania 42… but this wasn’t the explosive, must-see Raw after Mania we’re used to.

This is my one-take, one-shot Monday Night Raw review, breaking down everything that went down.

The Bloodline is back. Roman Reigns reunites with the Usos, and just like that, the entire show feels bigger.

But here’s the problem… it didn’t feel urgent.

Everything was there. Braun Breakker destroying Seth Rollins. Gunther stepping into the World Title picture. Oba Femi arriving and making a statement. NXT call-ups like Ethan Page and Sol Ruka getting their shine, with Joe Hendry coming next week.

Liv Morgan is rising to the top of the women’s division, and that shift feels real.

So yeah… they checked every box.

It just didn’t hit like a true “you can’t miss this” Raw after WrestleMania.

If they build off this the right way, we’re in a great spot.

    But tonight? Good… not great.

WrestleMania 42 Night Two completely flipped the script.

After a safe, boring Night One that didn’t feel like WrestleMania at all, Night Two came out swinging and actually delivered. This is what the Showcase of the Immortals is supposed to feel like.

Oba Femi beating Brock Lesnar felt like a legit passing of the torch moment. If that was Brock’s last match, nothing but respect. That was done right.

Rhea Ripley beating Jade Cargill wasn’t my favorite outcome, but it made sense. You don’t always have to like it, but you have to understand it, and this one worked.

Trick Williams getting the win over Sami Zayn was the right call. That’s how you build new stars instead of playing it safe.

Demon Finn Balor beating Dominik Mysterio finally made the Demon feel important again.

The ladder match did its job. Nothing crazy, but solid.

    And then the main event…

Roman Reigns vs CM Punk actually felt like a main event. Big fight feel, high stakes, and it delivered when it mattered most.

Night One played it safe. Night Two took risks and made it count.

    That’s the difference.

WrestleMania 42 Night 1 was supposed to be the Showcase of the Immortals… and instead, it played it safe. Way too safe.

Cody Rhodes vs Randy Orton had EVERYTHING. Legacy. History. Emotion. An easy story to tell. And somehow WWE fumbled it. Completely.

And then you’ve got Pat McAfee… saying the right things, pushing that “Attitude Era energy,” talking about what wrestling SHOULD feel like… but he’s the wrong messenger in the wrong spot. Because instead of elevating the match, it turned the main event into something it was never supposed to be.

    The rest of the card?
Safe. Predictable. By the numbers. Nothing that felt like WrestleMania.

We’re told every year to get hyped. To believe this is the biggest show of the year. And then when it doesn’t deliver, somehow that’s on us?

The craziest part? The most memorable moment of the entire night might have been Bianca Belair announcing her pregnancy. Think about that.

That’s not a knock on Bianca. That’s a problem for WrestleMania.

This is a full hot take breakdown of everything that went wrong, why this show missed the mark, and how WWE took a guaranteed win… and ruined it.

WrestleMania 42 Night 1 had EVERYTHING on paper… and somehow still felt like a TOTAL letdown.

Cody Rhodes vs Randy Orton was supposed to deliver one of the biggest WrestleMania main events in years. They teased something HUGE… a possible Cody heel turn… a real shift… and then just completely backed off and gave us a confusing, flat ending that didn’t hit the way it should have.

Outside of that, the show had moments, but nothing that truly felt like WrestleMania level. Seth Rollins vs Gunther had its moments, but even that got overshadowed by outside interference. Drew McIntyre vs Jacob Fatu was chaotic and brutal, but felt more like a side attraction than something that elevated the show.

The women’s division had some strong spots with Liv Morgan vs Stephanie Vaquer and Becky Lynch vs AJ Lee, but again… nothing that felt like it took over the night.

Even the six-man tag with LA Knight, The Usos, and IShowSpeed felt more like a spectacle than something meaningful.

This entire show felt like it was building to ONE big moment… and when it didn’t happen, the whole thing collapsed.

This is my full WrestleMania 42 Night 1 review… and why WWE completely dropped the ball when it mattered most.

WWE really went into WrestleMania with THAT as a go-home show?!

This SmackDown was supposed to get people hyped… and instead we got CM Punk and Cody Rhodes out there just praising each other like it was a handshake agreement instead of a fight. No tension. No edge. Just safe, corporate, boring.

Meanwhile, the most interesting thing on the entire show wasn’t even the main event scene… it was Trick Williams clowning Sami Zayn with a gingerbread man. That segment had personality, chaos, and something that actually felt unpredictable.

And here’s where it gets controversial…

I’m NOT saying pair Pat McAfee with Trick Williams… but if you listen to what Pat has been saying lately about WWE needing more edge, more Attitude Era energy, more risk… Trick Williams fits that vision WAY more than what we’re getting at the top of the card right now.

So if WWE is going to lean into that direction… why are we not even exploring that combination?

This isn’t about saying it works.
This is about asking why WWE isn’t even trying.

This was supposed to be the FINAL show before WrestleMania… and it felt like filler.

Instead of chaos, tension, or anything that makes you feel like something huge is about to happen, we got a soft ending with Cody Rhodes and CM Punk hugging it out like everything’s fine. No heat. No danger. No urgency. Just vibes… and not the good kind.

Meanwhile, the best part of the entire night? Trick Williams.
The man literally brought out a gingerbread man and somehow made it work. Him and Sami Zayn are quietly building one of the most entertaining feuds going right now, and it actually feels alive compared to everything else.

Randy Orton also did his part. He explained himself clearly, added depth, and gave you something real to latch onto… which just makes it even more frustrating that the rest of the show felt so meaningless.

This is the go-home show before WrestleMania.
You’re supposed to feel hype. You’re supposed to feel tension.
So why does it feel like nothing matters?

This is the promo we SHOULD have gotten on SmackDown.

Randy Orton finally explains himself in his interview with Wade Barrett, and it completely changes the story heading into WrestleMania 42 with Cody Rhodes. From legacy to mindset to what Orton really thinks about Cody, this interview fills in all the gaps WWE left on TV.

Instead, this storyline got sidetracked, and while Pat McAfee has his place in WWE, it didn’t belong in THIS feud. This was always a deeper story… and they finally tapped into it, just not where it mattered most.

We’re breaking down all the hidden Easter eggs, callbacks, and subtle details that make Orton vs Cody finally make sense.
