Bei einer Wanderung stellt sich heraus: Tierarzt Goll steckt in einer schweren Krise. Seine13-jährige Tochter ist sterbenskrank, seine Ehe wackelt und einige Tage zuvor hat er hier oben einen Toten gefunden: Herbert Wanner, Fleischfabrikant, musste sterben, weil er Pferde- als Hirschfleisch verkauft hat. Aber ist das wirklich ein Motiv für einen mittelalterlich anmutenden Ritualmord?
