What would you do if you suddenly found yourself in Tudor England? When 20-year-old history student Beth Wickers starts her second year of university, she has no idea that her whole world is about to be turned upside down. Beth’s favorite lecturer gives Beth a box of books on Tudor history to borrow, and nestled among them is an ornate cypher ring with the letters "AB" inscribed onto it. When Beth tries the ring on, the unimaginable happens. It carries her back through time to Hever Castle in 1521.

Beth Wickers, with yet another Tudor time-slip behind her, returns to university to continue with her PhD in history. However, she has a lot to deal with besides studying, and these issues are directly connected with her last Tudor experience. Though she appreciates her family and friends, and space to heal, she can’t deny that a significant part of her life is missing. Knowing how little time there is before fate catches up with those she loves, she’s compelled to return to Tudor life to make the most of what might remain for her to experience with Queen Anne, and George Boleyn.

Beth Wickers, back home and with the time-slip behind her, is busy preparing for her PhD. Things don’t go to plan, though, and she finds herself time-slipping to the Tower of London in 1536, where she witnesses an execution that sends her slipping back three years with an overwhelming dilemma.
