Not to sound dramatic, but I can’t decide if I’m a hot mess, a has-been…or both. There’s nothing quite like being in the spotlight at my lowest point. I could use a break from LA and my agent just for a little while. But Vermont in the middle of a blizzard? Probably not a great idea. However, the sexy lumberjack who lives next door is a sweet surprise. And so are his kids and the town. I like this place. I could be happy here…at least till my new season begins.

But now it’s over, and I’m not sure what to do with myself. So I'm going home to Elmwood. But I’ll tell you what I’m not gonna do—I’m not going to coach my buddy’s junior hockey league. No chance. I don’t know how to deal with kids, and besides, the other coach—who happens to be my best friend’s brother—hates me. With reason.

I like to have a good time, but don’t worry, I’ll behave. What I won’t do is talk to that double-crossing influencer who’s been badgering me for an interview. No thanks. I know Walker’s type—sweet as pie on the outside, a shark on the inside. Get this…he wants to make a deal that sounds a lot like a bribe. Not interested. No way.

The grad student pestering me for science-y help on his thesis is the definition of no fun, so… okay. Pros and cons of agreeing to this deal: Pros: Positive use of free time.
